Student Reviews
Thank you so much for your help and support in every situation, for being so incredibly friendly and providing an atmosphere that felt secure and reliable with every arrangement we made. We would happily recommend ATC and your great city to our colleagues.
I will always remember the different activities that I did and enjoyed like for instance, football and volleyball matches, disco nights, karaoke days…not to speak of the Irish dances!! Moreover, I would like to mention that I made a lot of friends in class, with whom today, I continue talking.

ATC’s summer academic programme aims to engage and motivate young learners through active and interesting lessons, encouraging maximum communication between students and helping them grow in confidence while they learn English.
The curriculum is designed around the CEFR and all levels are offered, A1-C1. The syllabus operates on a 4 weekly basis and has been designed with active learning and the students’ experience in mind, including topics and activities that will improve their overall level of understanding of the English language and activate their communication skills. All students will have a placement test on arrival so that they join the right class for their stage of language development. Our timetable is planned so that there are 2 lessons per day, over 5 days per week, with alternating morning and afternoon classes. All of our teachers are experienced state school teachers with a teaching English qualification, or ATC’s own year round teachers.

ATC On Campus Projects All of our university campus programmes include ATC On-Campus Projects, activities designed to socially engage students by incorporating the latest trends and development into their learning experience beyond the classroom. Photography – Students will learn what it takes to create the perfect photo and take part in fun competitions and selfie challenges. Gamezone – Students will combine mental and physical skills in a relaxed and fun environment to participate in on-campus activities. Teens on our university campuses will have a session each week focusing on Next Generation Career Guidance, combining the fundamentals of ‘Digital Citizenship’ into the concept of the ‘World of Work’. The sessions are a combination of lectures and interactive workshops, providing students with the language they need to prepare for working life. This initiative follows the policy guidelines of the Next Generation EU Plan (part of the EU Recovery Fund), and focuses on a range of areas such as the impact of covid-19 on workplace automation and flexibility, the opportunities created by Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, the Green Economy alongside Cybersecurity and other emerging sectors. Younger students will join a Conversation Club with interactive speaking and listening activities based on a range of topics, developing their confidence in communicating through English. In particular, they will discuss their Digital Identity and Citizenship where they learn to speak about their digital identity, their lives on social media and the challenges and opportunities presented to them as a result. All of ATC’s summer programmes include a variety of activities every evening on the campus, providing additional opportunities to meet and interact with their new international friends. The welfare of our students is of paramount importance to us and we offer a high standard of care and supervision to all our young learners. We provide nominated ATC staff members to act as guardians to our individual students who travel without Group Leaders. It is very important for us that our students remain happy and healthy throughout their stay. Please see the individual summer centre profiles for details of each campus.
The lessons are planned around a different topic each day. The first lesson of each day focuses on topics that are relative to the students and the world around them. The second lesson of each day is based on various aspects of Irish culture, allowing the students to gain an insight into Irish music, sport, history and legends. Each week students will practise their collaborative skills and get creative by working on a group project such as a radio show or short play to perform at the end of the week.
Each student will receive their own ‘My Learning Journal’ which provides tasks and research activities based on each tour the students can expect to go on.
It includes a Learning Diary for students to make notes, record new words and phrases and reflect on what they have learned each day.
This platform allows students to view their learning outcomes and main tasks for each lesson. They can also use it to learn about their tours. Access is given to the student and parent for the duration of their course and for 12 weeks after their stay with ATC.
Vlogging – Students will discover the world of lifestyle influencers on social media whilst using new vlogging skills to create their own video content.
